Choosing your pool coping

1. What style are you looking for?

CONTEMPORARY

Clean lines, polished concrete, steel

Shades of grey, anthracite, or black are particularly appreciated for their elegance and clean lines.

Also works with light sanded limestone if you want more
warmth.

MEDITERRANEAN

Light, bright facades, warm materials

Naturally, one gravitates towards travertine or beige limestone.

Beige and ivory stones bring warmth and brightness.

A raw limestone could also work very well here.

PERIOD PROPERTY

Old stone, authentic materials, generously planted garden

  • Coping in aged limestone or with a raw look,
  • Granite for its robustness and timeless elegance,
  • Thicknesses of 5 cm and more to provide more presence around the pool.

Our advice: opt for natural textures and slightly weathered edges. Overly smooth or uniform finishes risk breaking the harmony and authentic character of the project.

NATURE / COUNTRY HOME

Discreet, as if naturally integrated into the garden

Stones in shades of beige, cream, or soft grey create a more natural-looking pool, harmonizing with the surrounding vegetation and materials.

  • Travertine with warm hues,
  • Beige or light grey limestone,
  • Stones with slightly weathered textures or subtle reliefs.

Our advice: opt for natural shades and finishes that allow the material to express itself. The goal is not for the coping to draw attention, but for it to blend seamlessly into the landscape.

Answers to your questions about coping stones

What products should I use to clean and maintain pool coping?

Natural stone coping does not require complex maintenance. Regular cleaning with a stiff brush and a simple jet of water is generally sufficient to preserve their appearance over the years.

Contrary to popular belief, well-chosen and correctly installed natural stone coping does not require more maintenance than any other outdoor covering.

Applying a water-repellent treatment helps limit the penetration of water and stains, while facilitating daily maintenance. We particularly recommend Lithofin PROTECTION W, to be applied to perfectly dry stone after installation.

The use of stripping, acidic (lemon juice or vinegar) or corrosive products is not recommended, especially for limestone.

For particularly dirty coping (or annual maintenance), Lithofin Multi-Cleaner can be used.

To dissolve dirt and stubborn organic grime (algae, lichen, tannin), Lithofin Outdoor Cleaner is also recommended. Diluted with water, it cleans deeply.

What are the special features of the pool copings offered by Minéral?

A general distributor might offer you 200 coping stones. We offer about fifteen — a deliberate choice, not a constraint.

All our coping stones are made from natural stones selected for their resistance to weathering, frost, and demanding outdoor use. We favor proven combinations where the stone, edge profile, and finish naturally complement each other to offer the best balance between aesthetics, comfort, and durability.

We also attach great importance to project consistency. It is often possible to have the paving, cobblestones, or even the palisades made from the same rock as the coping to create a harmonious ensemble around the pool. Custom creations are also possible for certain projects.

Finally, we work directly with selected quarries and producers, without multiplying intermediaries. This direct sales model allows us to offer you natural stones at the fairest price, while maintaining a high level of demanding quality, availability, and durability for our ranges.

Our goal is not to offer every possible coping stone, but to select those that we will still be proud to recommend in ten years.
