Minéral Strasbourg: natural stone and tiles in Alsace since 1995

Our showroom in Bischheim, right on the edge of Strasbourg, has been helping homeowners and trade customers across Alsace with their natural stone and tile projects since 1995. Patio, pool surround, indoor floor, stone cladding, staircase, bathroom or kitchen: you will find the materials, the advice and the craftsmanship to take you from the simplest project to the most demanding one.

An Alsatian story

Minéral has been in Alsace for more than thirty years. In the early days we mostly worked local stone, such as Vosges sandstone from our former quarries in Alsace Bossue, at Mackwiller, shaped in our own stonemason’s workshop. Those quarries are now closed, but our roots in the region remain. We know Alsatian houses, half-timbered façades, red and grey sandstone walls and what our climate demands.

Today the Strasbourg showroom relies on our head office in Lorraine and its 40,000 m² of stock. Products reach Bischheim several times a week, and the showroom keeps a buffer stock on site for urgent needs.

Stone chosen for the Alsatian climate

Before we even look at a price, we check that a stone will last here. Winters in Alsace are cold, with frost, big swings in temperature and road salt. It is our basic rule: we never sell a product that is not suited to our climate. Our outdoor stone and tiles are selected for hardness, frost resistance and durability, so you can enjoy your patio or pool surround for years, with no nasty surprise after the first winter.

A very wide range, from entry-level to high-end

In the Strasbourg showroom you will find the whole Minéral range, indoors and out:

• Travertine: indoor and outdoor paving, pool coping, cladding, basins and made-to-measure pieces, in natural stone and in travertine-effect porcelain.
• Limestone and granite: paving, cobbles, edging, pool coping, steps and wall copings.
• Porphyry, slate, sandstone, quartzite and marble for patios, paths and walls.
• Tiles and porcelain in stone, wood and concrete effects: more than 300 outdoor tiles, from 60×60 up to large 120×220 formats, and indoors up to 320×160 for a seamless kitchen or living area. We are an authorised dealer for the Italian brand Mirage.
• Stone cladding for interior walls, façades or garden walls.

Prices start at around ten euros per square metre, with the same focus on quality and durability from our most affordable tile to our rarest stone.

A 1,200 m² showroom to see the real result

The showroom has 700 m² of indoor display and 500 m² outdoors. Paving, pool coping and tiles are laid as they would be at home: you walk on them and see how they look in daylight. The outdoor display is open 24/7 with free access, Sundays included, and lit at night.

Stock, trade supply and made-to-measure: the best of both worlds

What sets us apart is bringing together under one roof what is rarely found together: a large stock, volume trade supply of tiles and stone, and made-to-measure manufacturing in our own stonemason’s workshop, backed by our quarries and our factory. We work raw blocks as well as finished products.

A stonemason makes everything to order: for a floor, pieces are cut from slabs and the price climbs quickly. A tile shop offers keen prices but a limited choice and little made-to-measure work. At Minéral you get both: paving and tiles in stock at the best value for money, and made-to-measure work where it really makes a difference.

For the same budget, you can put the effort where it shows: a basin carved from beautiful stone, an exceptional worktop, and a quality floor at a reasonable price. The result looks stunning without the bill spiralling.

• Pool coping can be cut from the same paving as your patio, for a seamless finish.
• Floor, wall, basin and worktop can all be made in one and the same material, from the entrance to the patio.
• We make staircases, worktops, basins, shower trays, bathroom cladding and wine cellars to measure, in small and large formats up to 3.20 m.
