ALL ABOUT GREY GRAVEL

Grey gravel is a must-have for outdoor landscaping: gardens, borders, driveways. Limestone, porphyry, or granite, it comes in bags or big bags. Grain size, stock, price, installation... discover everything you need to know before ordering.

The grey gravel is an essential decorative mineral product for landscaping gardens, flower beds, borders or outdoor paths. Its neutral color and natural texture make it possible to create a sober and elegant look, much appreciated in contemporary landscaped areas.

At Minéral, we offer a wide selection, available in bags or big bags, with fast delivery and permanent stock:

  • Crushed gravel GRIS D'ARDECHE: ideal for traffic areas, this limestone offers a rustic look and excellent stability underfoot.
  • Crushed gravel GRIS EN PORPHYRE: a dense volcanic rock, perfect for paths and terraces. Its density limits movement when walked on.
  • Crushed gravel GRIS DES ARDENNES: with a dark grey look, it blends perfectly into planted areas, especially in contrast with green plants or materials such as pavers or natural stone.
  • Crushed gravel GRANIT DES VOSGES: with a pinkish-grey shade, this regional stone is particularly appreciated for its durability and decorative versatility.

💡 These gravels are offered in different formats to meet every possible use, whether for a footpath, decorative mulching, or a ground stabilizer. Each stone has a detailed product sheet, including its grain size, packaging, availability and, of course, its price.

Other grey-like gravels may meet your needs: white gravels (see the complete white range) and black gravels (see the complete black range). Otherwise, for more choice, see our complete gravel overview.

The grain size refers to the size of the gravel grains, expressed in millimetres. The choice depends directly on the intended use:

  • 4/12 mm or 6/10 mm: ideal for pedestrian paths, terraces and decorative areas. This size ensures good density, a uniform appearance and stable installation on a stabiliser.
  • 8/16 mm: versatile, perfect for vehicle-accessible tracks, public spaces or high-traffic areas.
  • 15/25 mm or larger: to be preferred for a decorative finish in beds, borders, or around pavers

👉 At Minéral, each product comes with a detailed description including its size, density and weight per m³.

The price of grey gravel depends on several criteria: the variety (crushed, limestone, basalt, marble), size, quantity, type of packaging (bag or big bag) and delivery.

Here are some indicative ranges:

💡 At Minéral, we offer competitive prices and pallet discounts. Products are available in stock, with home delivery or in-store pickup. Prices are transparent, displayed according to the packaging and updated regularly.

A successful installation relies on a few simple but essential technical steps to guarantee durability, stability and appearance:

  • Prepare the ground: excavate 10 to 15 cm deep, level and compact.
  • Install a geotextile membrane (preferably woven) to prevent weed regrowth.
  • Lay a stabilizer (honeycomb) if the area is used by pedestrians or vehicles (paths, parking areas).
  • Spread the gravel in a layer of 3 to 5 cm depending on size.

For garden areas, you can simply place the gravel on the fabric, spreading it evenly to obtain a uniform visual effect. Light grey gravel combined with white or black creates a modern, contrasting look.

🛠 At Minéral, we also offer installation advice and complementary accessories (fabric, stabilizer, edgings), with each product page. Our teams help you choose the right gravel and the right packaging.
