Sinai Pearl limestone pool copings in Beaune

The project

On the outskirts of Beaune, a house surrounded by vineyards was getting a new pool. The owners wanted a light, durable stone for the copings and the pool surround.

The choices

For the surround, they chose tumbled Comblanchien paving, a dense limestone from the Côte-d'Or. For the copings, they opted for Sinai Pearl limestone copings with a half-round profile, whose uniform beige tone matches the surround.

Sinai Pearl is a hard, frost-resistant limestone, available as half-round or straight-edged copings to suit the style of each pool. Corner pieces, curves or special lengths can be made to measure in our workshop.

Installation

A partner pool builder laid the copings and the surround in about two weeks, following construction of the pool.

Copings are laid on the pool wall with a slight overhang above the water and a gentle slope outwards, so rainwater does not run back into the pool. Joints are made with a product compatible with treated water.

For a durable terrace, paving is laid on a stable, free-draining base with a fall of about 1.5 to 2% to drain water, using an adhesive and grout designed for outdoor use and natural stone. Our in-store advisers can recommend the right installation products.

The result

About 28 metres of copings and 40 m² of surround in light stones, in harmony with the landscape of the Côte.

Like any limestone, this surface benefits from a suitable water-repellent treatment and cleaning with pH-neutral products; acidic products should be avoided.
