BASIL Antique Cement Tile-Effect Tiles

Art Nouveau Decorative Porcelain Stoneware Tile

Inspired by the historic floors of 19th-century bourgeois homes and apartment buildings, this porcelain stoneware tile faithfully recreates the aesthetic of medieval-arabesque patterned cement tiles that adorned the vestibules, hallways, and kitchens of popular and bourgeois interiors of yesteryear.

Its four-petaled rosette pattern, centered around stylized star-shaped flowers and arabesque scrolls, creates a dense, hypnotic, and visually profound design. Laid in a full-tile pattern, it creates a continuous flooring effect close to that of genuine antique cement tiles, with all their chromatic nuances that shift with the light.

The coordinating border with floral tendrils and a Greek geometric meander allows for the creation of elegant rug borders or edging, in the purest tradition of Haussmann-style floors.

The depth of the antique tile, in a palette with a strong character

Its palette of muted tones—slate gray, powder blue, tobacco brown, and cream ivory—gives it a strong character and remarkable versatility. Equally at home in the vestibule of a grand house as in an industrial-vintage style kitchen, a bathroom with a strong character, or a refined dining area, it brings an authentic presence and a rare soul to all types of projects.
