Jointing Mortar - G9s BASALT ARDEX

A flexible grout in basalt color for joints from 2 to 15 mm.

The ARDEX G9S FLEX 2-15 BASALTE is a cement-based grout, specially designed for wide joints of 2 to 15 mm. Its flexible, highly deformable formula offers good adhesion to the tile edges and helps limit stresses on coverings subject to thermal variations.

Water-repellent after hardening, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations and is used in particular for tiles, porcelain stoneware and certain natural stones.

For which coverings?

ARDEX G9S FLEX 2-15 BASALTE is particularly suitable for grouting:

• Fine porcelain stoneware and porcelain stoneware
• Glazed ceramic tiles
• Natural stone that is not sensitive to moisture
• Porcelain and ceramic mosaic
• Facing bricks
• Extruded sandstone tiles
• Glass blocks

It is particularly suited to balconies, terraces and porcelain stoneware coverings.

A flexible grout for surfaces subject to thermal variations

Its high deformability and good adhesion to tile edges help reduce the stresses placed on coverings. ARDEX G9S FLEX 2-15 BASALTE is therefore suited to surfaces subject to thermal stresses, in particular terraces, balconies and floors with underfloor heating.

Application

The mortar is simply mixed with water to obtain a soft, creamy paste that is easy to apply. It can be worked with a grout float or a rubber grout squeegee.

At +20 °C, the working time is approximately 30 minutes. Grouted surfaces can be walked on after approximately 90 minutes.

Tip: for natural stones sensitive to moisture, it is recommended to carry out a preliminary test to check that there is no discoloration on the tile edges.
